Our next stop in Nevada was Dayton. Not a real ghost town, as it has a population of over 8000 and is locater straight on the highway. But the old downtown is rather interesting.

Yes, technically Trona is not a ghost town. It had almost 2000 population in 2015. But for every inhabited house in the town there are 1 or 2 abandoned. This town looks like it is far away from it’s best days.
This was a bit of a disappointment, because the beautiful ghost town was turned into the tourist attraction with all the “typical attributes of the wild west 1 century town”.
We planned to get the whole way to Masonic, but my 2WD with low clearance was not able to get through the dirt road and we had to stop 3-4 miles from the Masonic town.
